LEXINGTON: Hans Stefan Langer, 90, of Lexington, passed away Thursday morning April 1, 2010 in his home.
Born October 13, 1919 in Vienna, Austria Hans was the son of Johan and Anna (Tomsicek) Langer.
On May 5, 1947 Hans married Herta (Schermann) Langer. It was in 1956 the two moved to America. In 1965 the Langer family moved from Detroit to the Mansfield area where Hans worked for General Motors as a die maker. He retired in 1984 after 23 years.
He is survived by his wife Herta Langer of Lexington; son and daughter-in-law Peter and Sharon Langer of Mansfield; daughter and son-in-law Angela and Hema Weerasuriya of Strongsville; four grandchildren Aric, Rachel, Kalani, Samara; and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 2-5pm in the Mansfield Masonic Temple, 1250 Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44904.
Upon Hans’ request, the Langer family selected compassionate cremation services. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Homes is assisting the Langer family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions to Hospice of North Central Ohio may be made through the funeral home.
