Mary L. Parker, age 84, of Delano Street, Mount Vernon, died on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on March 3, 1925 in Mount Vernon to the late Charles and Lillian (Dougherty) Blair. Mary and her husband, the late John William Parker, worked and maintained the family farm near Centerburg. She was a member of the Newark Road Church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Max) Waddell of Mount Vernon, a granddaughter, Patricia (Jamie) Fry of Johnstown, a brother, Ed Blair of Mount Vernon and a sister, Edith Wise of Mount Vernon.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, William Parker, Russell Carter, a brother, Charles Blair and a sister, Janette Neighbarger.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050 where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM. Mr. J. Andrew (Andy) Jooste will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
