Richard G. Owens Jr., age 54, of Old Mansfield Road, Fredericktown, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
He was born on June 7, 1955 in Martin, Kentucky to the late Richard and Beverly (Huff) Owens Sr. Richard was a member of the Club at the Breezze Inn. He loved NASCAR especially driver Jimmy Johnson. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes fan but will be mostly remembered for his big, generous heart.
Surviving are his two sons, William (Angela) Owens of Mount Vernon, Rick (Nichole) Owens of Fredericktown; three grandchildren, Scott, Mykalah and Lacey Owens; brothers Tony (Judy) Owens of Ashland, David Owens of Ashland, Matt (Debbie) Owens of New London, Mark Owens of Ashland; a sister Terry (Tom) Stults of Delaware; nephews Robert and Todd Lawrentz and a niece Shawnett Layman.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 2 – 4 PM at the Dan Emmett Conference Center with a memorial service beginning at 4 PM. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the Richard G. Owens Jr. family.
