Carroll Ackerman, age 65, of Harcourt Road, Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009 at his home. He was born on August 28, 1943 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to Alton Ackerman and Dorothy (Beheler) Waxler. Carroll worked as an independent milk truck driver and also worked for Kroblin Trucking.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years Deborah (Turner) Ackerman, two sons, Wayne Allen (Viki) Ackerman of Ocala, Florida, Michael (Melody) Lahmon of Mount Vernon, a daughter, Stacey (Myron) Berger of Howard, Ohio, his mother, a sister, Cheryl (David) Crates of McComb, Ohio and five grandchildren, Greg (Kristina) Ackerman, Jarrod Gump, Heather (Dwayne) Stevens, Tyler Berger, Ashley Ackerman and his canine companion Lucie.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Paula Ackerman, his father and stepfather, Paul Waxler.
The family will observe a private memorial service at a later date. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Carroll Ackerman.
