Virginia Lepp, 82, of Edison died early Saturday morning November 1, 2008 at the Providence Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio.
She was born on February 28, 1926 in Smithville, Ohio the daughter of the late Albert and Gladys (Hartzler) Beaverson.
Virginia was a graduate of Smithville High School and continued her education at Mansfield General Hospital where she earned her license as a Registered Nurse.
On November 6, 1946 she married Lowell E. Lepp. They were married for nearly 50 years before his passing in 1995.
Her generous unselfish nature was a perfect fit for her career in the nursing field. Even away from her scheduled time at the Morrow County Hospital and later at the health department she would often assist family and friends in private duty nursing.
As a member of the healthcare field Virginia led by example, walking 2 miles everyday; she was very fit and also enjoyed times spent outdoors. Her family recalled camping trips to the Great Smokey Mountains and various Civil War battle sites in the south.
A devout Christian, she was an active member of the Boundary United Methodist Church as was involved in many aspects of the church.
Virginia was also a volunteer for the American Lung Association and the American Red Cross.
She also was a magician in the kitchen and was well known for her pies. Each family member had their favorite; from Coconut Cream, to Butterscotch, to Raisin. Family time with Virginia always involved something wonderful from her kitchen.
She will be missed by her children Michael “Fritz” (Michelle) Lepp of Hudson, Ohio, Candace (Douglas) Shealy of Port Clinton, Ohio, and Taffy (Patrick) White of Centerburg, Ohio; 6 grandsons Ryan, Chad, and Brandon Lepp, Jacob and Caleb White, and Adam Shealy; 5 siblings Wayne Beaverson of Virginia, Dwight (Jane) Beaverson of Wisconsin, Joan (Richard) Matheny of Ohio, Mary Lou Preston of Michigan, and Bill (Barbara) Beaverson of Ohio.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth.
Friends may call on the family on Wednesday November 5, 2008 from 6-8 PM at the Snyder Funeral Home, Craven Chapel, 67 North Main Street, Mount Gilead. Funeral services will be held there on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bob Johncox officiating. Burial at Bryn Zion Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to Boundary United Methodist Church or the Salvation Army.
