Charles Everett Comstock, age 80, of Utica, passed away suddenly, Monday January 22, 2007 at home. Charles was born March 18, 1926 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to L. Raymond and Oddie O. (Dailey) Comstock. He had worked and served faithfully as a member, at Hillcrest Church of Christ, since the congregation was established in 1953. Charles had served the church as an elder for many of those years. He was retired after 33 years employment at Kaiser Aluminum in Heath and was a lifelong farmer. Charles was a U S Navy veteran of World War Two, serving aboard the minesweeper, USS Triumph in the Pacific Theater of War. He had been an active member of the “Farmers Market” in Mount Vernon from its inception and was a member of the Ohio Beekeepers Association.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Velma (Biehl) Comstock; his daughters and son-in-laws Terrie and Frank Morris of Utica and Nancy and Ronald Mayfield of Atwater; a son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Karen Comstock French of Concord, North Carolina, ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law Lester and June Comstock of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews. His parents, a daughter Kathy Jo French, his son Charles William Comstock, two sisters Roberta Wooley and Mary Edith Conger and three infant brothers preceded Charles in death.

Friends may call Thursday from 1 PM to 3 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Friday at 11 AM with his grandsons Keith Malone and Craig Davis officiating. Burial with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow at Union Grove Cemetery near Gambier.
