Esther Rutledge, age 88, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Thursday November 9, 2006 at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born on October 4, 1918 in Nellie, Ohio to the late Robert and Edna (Cullison) Burch. Esther attended the Central Church of Christ. She was a loving wife and mother and will be sadly missed by her family.
She is survived by her five daughters, Rita (Dick) Rasnick of Clover, South Carolina, Norma (William) Mashburn of Springfield, Missouri, Carolyn Harmon of Mount Vernon, Sharon (John) Durbin of Kettering, Ohio and Pamela (Kenneth) Janssen of Wooster, Ohio, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, four brothers, Calvin (Clita) Burch of Newark, Clarence (Joan) Burch of Fredericktown, Darrell Burch of Orange, California, Jim Burch of Davey, Florida and two sisters, Elsie Spurgeon of Mount Vernon and Ara Flack of Howard.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James W. Rutledge and a granddaughter.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 3 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the Central Church of Christ. Mr. Don Linn and Mr. Ken Springer will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Central Church of Christ, 1005 Harcourt Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.
