Amanda Lynn “Mandy” Adkins, age 22 of Galena died at her home Saturday evening, November 25, 2000 following a courageous battle against brain cancer.
She was born on November 14, 1978 in Columbus to Darrel and Phyllis (Doane) Adkins of Galena. Graduate of Olentangy High School Class of 1997, a cheerleader, active in track and choir. Lifelong area resident, a dental assistant, she attended Columbus State University, and was a volunteer for Grady Memorial Hospital.
In addition to her parents she is also survived by Sister & Brother-in-law: Tami (Brian) Lee of Galena, Grandparents: Raymond and Tina Doane of Sunbury, Opal Adkins of Morehead, KY, Nephews: Austin and Colton, Aunts and Uncles: Joyce & Phil Link, Charlene & Gary Sullivan, Sharon Edwards, Paul & Jo Adkins, Glaspie Adkins, Madison & Theresa Adkins, Michael & Cathy Adkins, and many loving cousins.
Proceeded in death by grandfather: Beecher Adkins.
Friends may call Wednesday 4-8 PM at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury where funeral services will be held Thursday 1:30 p.m., Minister John Tewell and Pastor Frank Carl officiating. Interment will follow in Cheshire Cemetery.
