LEXINGTON- A truly rich man is one who's children and grandchildren run into his arms when his hands are empty. Terry Richards was blessed with generations of love and happiness. As a husband he always supported and cared for his loving wife, Toni. As father, he gave time, energy and wisdom to his two sons. As grandpa, he spoiled his precious grandchildren with loving hugs and kisses. Terry Richards embraced life and counted himself blessed beyond measure.

On Tuesday, March 6, 2012 Terry A. Richards, 69, of Lexington passed away unexpectedly in Mansfield MedCentral Hospital.

Born August 14, 1942 in Mansfield the son of Howard and Louise Richards, Terry graduated from Lexington High School in 1960. Just a few years later, he married the love of his life Toni Pugh on June 29, 1963.

Terry worked in sales traveling both statewide and abroad. He retired from Mansfield Industries.

Involved in the Lexington community, Terry served on the Lexington Park Board, was active in Lexington's Little League programs and was also a member of the Lexington Athletic Boosters.

Terry enjoyed golfing and in the summer was proud to showcase his 1970's blue Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible in local cruise-ins.

A family man, Terry was proud and loved his sons as he did his daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had the most fun watching his boys sports and then came the grandchildren and their sports. Over the past eight years Terry enjoyed cheering and supporting the Crestview girls basketball teams as they became his “adopted” granddaughters.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Toni Richards of Lexington; sons and daughter-in-law Todd Richards of Lexington and Tracy (Dianna) Richards of Mansfield; grandchildren Kassondra (Brandon) Stanford, Cicelyann, Lauren, Sierra, and Cole Richards; great granddaughters Makenzie and Jazlynn; sister Lori (Daniel) Atkins of Lexington; nieces, extended family and close friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 1-5pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services celebrating the life of Terry Richards will be held on Monday at 11am. Ed Taylor will speak.

Memorial contributions to the Troy Township Fire Fighters Association may be made through the funeral home.

A loving husband, Terry was a caring and kind man to everyone. Now God will be those things to Terry and he will watch over him, until he is in Toni's arms again. Always and forever, he will be her love.
