Margaret A. Rushton, age 82, of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday April 9, 2002 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born December 14, 1919 in Knox County to Floyd and Elsie (Baker) Paige and had spent her lifetime in the Mount Vernon area. Margaret was a former employee of Mercy Hospital and the Shellmar Company both in Mount Vernon. She had been a former Brownie Troop Leader and a Girl Scout Leader and she was a member of Monroe Grange. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband Vernon E. Rushton whom she married June 24, 1941; her daughter Sandy J. (Al) Wilhelm of Mount Vernon; 2 grandsons Randy A. Wilhelm and Bradley L. Wilhelm; a nephew Doug Paige; a niece Linda Inyouis and several cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son David Elven Rushton and her brother Glenn Paige.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where funeral services will be Friday at 2 PM with Rev. Joe Blevins officiating. Burial will be in Mound View Cemetery.
